MMCZ Launches Exhibition Pavilion Design Competition

On Sunday 7 January 2018, MMCZ launched a design competition for the redesign of the Corporation’s exhibition pavilion. The competition called for all ingenious 3D design, Interior design, Design and technology, and architecture students then currently enrolled with local institutions, to register their interest.

The competition entailed creating a design which would be adopted by MMCZ for its exhibition pavilion. The competition had two (2) stages. Entries for the first stage of the competition were scheduled to close on Friday 26 January 2018 at 4pm.

Six shortlisted participants with winning designs from the initial stage would then go into the final round where they would produce designs for the actual exhibition as well as models. The prizes for the top three (3) winners were as follows:

1st Prize: US$ 1,000                      2nd Prize: US$ 500                     3rd Prize: US$ 250

To qualify, one was supposed to be enrolled at any local tertiary institution and studying any of the above mentioned subjects/modules/courses. The competition was a project designed to offer students design students an opportunity for experiential learning.
