MMCZ Key Divisions/Departments
In execution of its mandate, MMCZ has the following divisions/departments:
Marketing Division (Non-Metals and Metals Departments)
The Marketing Division is divided into two departments which are as follows:
Metals Department which deals with minerals such as High Carbon Ferrochrome (HCFC), nickel, copper, steel, Precious Group Metals (PGMs) and other ores like iron ore, manganese ore and chrome ore amongst others.
Non Metals Department, it is a section of the marketing division mandated by the Corporation to market and sell all industrial minerals, gemstones, ornamental and dimensional stones, in line with the MMCZ Act.
Finance and Administration Division (Finance, Human Resources, Administration Departments)
The department is responsible for accounting of all mineral proceeds, collection of royalties and commission, human resources and administration issues.
Corporate Affairs Division (Monitoring and Inspectorate, Security and Corporate Secretariat Departments).
The Corporate Affairs department provides secretariat services to the MMCZ Board. The Board which is made up of non-executive members and one executive member retains full and effective control over the Corporation. The General Manager is the only executive that sits on the board and the rest of the members are non-executives.
Under Monitoring and Inspectorate as well as security, the department ensures effective accountability of national mineral resources, reduction of losses and protection of both human and financial assets through sound Monitoring, Inspectorate and Security strategies designed in line with the demands of the Mining Industry.
Corporate Communications Department
The department ensures the promotion and enhancement of the image of the Corporation through effective internal and external communications such as:
- Marketing communications
- Media relations
- Stakeholder relations
- Image building
- Crisis and reputation management
- Brand management and
- Corporate Social Responsibility
The MMCZ Internal audit Department helps the Corporation to meet its mandate and objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness risk management, management control, and governance processes through provision of insight and recommendations based on analyses and assessments of business processes, procedures, policies and systems.
